Beyond Compliance – Applying FEI to Optimize Fan Systems

Presentation Description:

Significant changes are coming to the commercial fan industry through the adoption of a new metric, the Fan Energy Index (FEI), into energy codes and standards. Both ASHRAE 90.1-2019 and IECC-24 include FEI requirements, and a federal-level mandate is expected by 2029. This presentation will be focused on understanding FEI, how to comply with code requirements, and how FEI can be used as a powerful tool to select the best fan system for their application.

About the Speaker:

Stephen Butina has been with Greenheck for over eight years and is currently serving as a Sales Application Manager. After earning his degree from Michigan Technological University, he has gained diverse experience through roles such as completing a two-year rotational leadership program, working as a sales engineer, and serving as a regional sales manager. Stephen’s foundational experience in sales engineering centers around Warehouse & Distribution Center design, with a focus on educating customers about HVAC systems and technologies used in these applications. In his current role, he combines his expertise in educating customers about Greenheck’s products while also identifying market-specific opportunities in his territory.
